Be the first to bathe your tongue in a rare brew named after a mythical giant. The beer is as mythical as its namesake because it comes in a bottomless mug and with unlimited food and drink for $70 at Brasserie Beck with this Groupon ($100 value).

The Belgian beer and cuisine experts are celebrating Belgium's independence day with an unlimited feast from 7:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 21. Guests will be the first to taste Antigoon, brewed specially for Brasserie Beck's chef and named for a mythical giant who lived in Antwerp until he was killed by a Roman soldier and immortalized in this hilarious sculpture. The specialty brown ale is just one of 20 beers from faraway breweries such as Het Anker and Maredsous to be boozed on Belgium's birthday.

The liquor comes alongside the chef's favorite dishes: Brasserie Beck's famous mussels, dishes of grilled sausages, pork ribs, and seafood shepherd’s pie. Brasserie Beck, at 1101 K St., NW (in downtown and accessible by both the Metro Center and McPherson Square Metro stops), was of one of Washingtonian's 100 best restaurants in 2008 and 2009. Chef and owner Robert Wiedmaier is the 2009 Restaurant Association of Metropolitan Washington's Chef of the Year. Critics rave about how he energizes subtle Belgian flavors.

Brasserie Beck keeps the fine feelings flowing with lace curtains, solid wood tables, and a patio for outdoor dining—don't miss it overflowing with infinite Belgian delights.

Brasserie Beck is one of the most popular restaurants in DC. It has a top rating on Zagat and is a Washington Post editor's pick:

  • If you don't usually drink beer, chances are you'll be a convert when you leave. If you're a devotee, you'll be in brew heaven. Among the inspired food and suds pairings I've enjoyed here are oysters on the half shell with the pleasantly sour and effervescent Geuze, and peppery rabbit loin with the lush Binchoise Reserve, which smells of apricots and hints of caramel on the palate. – Tom Sietsema, The Washington Post

More than 100 Yelpers give Brasserie Beck an average of four stars. What are they saying?

  • WOW. The mussels were wonderful. I am still craving the mix of delicious flavors as I sit and write this review. – Maria A.
  • BB is exactly what I want in a good restaurant: seriously good, fresh, flavorable [sic] food with great service, great beer/wine options and aesthetically pleasing decor. – Amber B.
  • Fantastic, really great place. To start the beer menu is great, well stocked and knowledgeable bartenders and servers really know how to pair the food and drink. Great menu with fresh, classic dishes with a twist. – Anthony I.
