A Chat with Brevard Hawaiian Dancers, Inc.
What services does your business offer and what makes your business stand out from the competition? We are a non-profit organization, focusing on the perpetuation of not only dance, but of the Polynesian cultures. We offer a plethora of classes from Hawaiian dance, Hawaiian language, Tahitian dance and drumming, and even fire knife dancing.
What's one tip for first-time students that will make them feel like veterans? We specialize in teaching Hawaiian dance and language basics to those who have never learned this style of dance before. Not only will you receive classroom instruction, but students also receive handouts and on-line training tools as well. Within the seven weeks, you will learn a hula too.
What was the inspiration to start or run this business? Polynesian culture has been apart of our family since the 1960s. It has been my desire to continue to perpetuate everything that has been shared with me. Many of my students also have 20+ years of experience, and together, we offer the most quality training.
What do you love most about your job? We love to see new students walk into our school who have very little knowledge of the culture. Then to watch them learn and blossom, sharing with them the Aloha spirit. Educating them in not only the dance, but in the entire culture as well.
