Italy’s rich culinary tradition has indelibly inspired American institutions, from the legal marriage of macaroni and cheese to the first document autographed in marinara sauce. Celebrate culinary contributions from the boot-heeled country with today's Groupon: for $12, you get $25 worth of upscale Italian dining at Bria Bistro Italiano.

Bria Bistro's dinner menu provides plenty of targets for which cuisine duelists can aim their dinette weaponry. Take the initiative with one of Bria Bistro's primi selections, such as PEI mussels sautéed in white wine ($9) or the stuffed grilled portabella ($8), marinated in Balsamic vinegar and topped with roasted garlic basil pesto and goat cheese. House specialties such as the traditional veal saltimbocca (veal with prosciutto, spinach, and mozzarella with drizzled mushroom marsala jus over rosemary new potatoes, $24) and chicken piccata (scallopine of chicken, artichokes, wood-fired tomatoes blanketed by lemon-caper sauce over linguine, $19) dominate the main course. If a diner fears that ordering salmon over roasted-red-pepper risotto cake ($20) will offend the sensibilities of grizzly chefs, Bria Bistro's hearty vegetarian options include pappardelle with mushrooms, leeks, goat cheese, and white truffle oil ($15), fettuccine alfredo ($15), and more.

Bria Bistro's dining atmosphere combines classic elegance with a lively neighborhood vibe, where diners can comfortably keep their dinner from dying alone by match-making meals to one of the many imported Italian wines on Bria's wine list. Sip from a glass of high-flying Acrobat pinot noir ($14/glass), a ground-dwelling LaTerre chardonnay ($7/glass), or a ground-swelling bottle of Earthquake zinfandel ($60/bottle).

Bria Bistro Italiano

The founder of Bria Bistro Italiano teamed up with an executive chef to create a menu of Italian fare with seasonal ingredients. In the kitchen, chefs bake Italian favorites, such as lasagna stuffed with ricotta cheese, and prepare eggplant parmesan with housemade mozzarella and fire-roasted red peppers. Personal culinary flair is added by providing apricot-chutney accents, drizzles of white-truffle oil, and sides of herbed polenta fries. Servers pour glasses of wine from the extensive wine list to pair with entrees, including everything from bold reds to floral whites as crisp as a freshly dry-cleaned apple.

One of Nashville's better Italian restaurants. Always delicious standard Italian recipes, but we love the variety of daily specialties. Food is wonderful, service is superb and the atmosphere you can't beat.
