Four of us arrived at 5pm and we were the only ones there. Had a nice leisurely dinner and finished at 8:30pm. There were only 2 other couples who had arrived in the restaurant. Service is very slow so if you are a quick eater and don’t enjoy a long dinner do not eat here. Lobster bisque was delicious. Salmon entree very good, duck a bit tough, lamb chops ok. Strawberries and cream delicious!!

We saw a lot of one star reviews because of slow service or taking over an hour for an entree and over half an hour for the appetizer. My fiancé and I ordered the 5 course meal, and having 30-45 minutes between each course was very beneficial for us to metabolize the previous course. The food was amazing and the staff was phenomenal. We were very happy with our experience.

About Briarhurst Manor Restaurant

Pikes Peak overlooks Briarhurst Manor Restaurant at the South Entrance to Garden of The Gods, and the pink sandstone Tudor-style manor was constructed as a private summer home for Manitou Springs town founder Dr. William Bell in 1876. The English country architecture showcases elegant flourishes such as 11 wood-detailed dining rooms with tiled fireplaces and dark-wood boiserie, and a garden room where sunlight streams through towering stained glass windows. The gorgeous setting, along with its gourmet menu and gracious staff, led to Briarhurst Manor being named 1 of the 100 most romantic restaurants in the country according to OpenTable's 2012 and 2013 Diners' Choice awards.

The cuisine matches the interior’s opulence: Executive Sean Evans glazes duck-shank confit in a gooseberry cassis, and augments the flavor of Colorado lamb chops with chestnut fig jus. Cabernet sauvignons and chardonnays from Napa Valley and malbecs from Argentina punctuate the restaurant's extensive and carefully cultivated wine list.
