Sixties counterculture icon Steven Ben Israel, a core member of the avant-garde ensemble The Living Theatre, comes alive in The Spinning Wheel, a multimedia performance and interactive gallery exhibition created by Israel's son, hip-hop theater artist Baba Israel. Drawing on 50 years of archival material and combining spoken word, video and live music, the show is a loving tribute to a father and a celebration of the New York counterculture. UK-based director Leo Kay, musician Yako 440, dramaturg Talvin Wilks and video artist Richard Ramchurn collaborated on this unique show at BRIC Arts Media House in Brooklyn.
