I would have like the stright razor used throughout the shave not just at the beginning.

Though a beard warms a chin and brandy heats the tummy, the pair become a fire hazard when flambéing saganaki. Eliminate the possibility of face fires with today’s Groupon: for $35, you get either a 45-minute classic shave (a $65 value) or a haircut (up to a $70 value), plus a foot or neck massage (a $10 value) at The Brighton Shave Co. in Beverly Hills.

Combining elements of old-school American and London barbershops, The Brighton Shave Co. is a sophisticated spot for a close, comfortable, classic wet-shave or a luxurious lop-off of lengthy locks. Brighton Classix hair-slayers initiate the shaving experience by checking your chin to determine the most effective skin-preserving products. Then, armed with straight razors, hot towels, and the finest skincare products, they’ll begin your transformation from mere man into refined man about mantown. After they expertly slather on a mask of lather, they’ll summarily deforest your face’s stubble jungle while a warm, wet towel moistens your dermis and holds its pore doors open. Throughout the process, your face will stay as smooth and soft as unfrozen margarine. If your face forest is already cleared, you can opt to fix up your uppermost frizz with a haircut. Both services include a relaxing foot or neck massage to conclude your trims on a tranquil note.

In the entrance to The Brighton’s elegant shave shop, smooth-faced floor tiles greet the feet while a barber’s pole hangs on a gallant wall of bricks. Inside, the eye meets sleek wooden floors, comfortable swivel chairs, and a flight of stairs that leads up to a smithy where razor blades are forged. Don a dapper wig, call up bearded ladyfriends, and free your head from its hairy captors at The Brighton Shave Co.

Reviews

Yelpers give The Brighton Shave Co. a near-perfect 4.5-star average, saying:

  • The ambience of the location is definitely classy, and definitely male - wood flooring and exposed brick walls, dark leather seating… – Lucy Y., Yelp
  • As I walked in, the air of sophistication was apparent but not pushy. I was offered a drink, (took water, but the scotch was soon to come!) shook hands with my new best friend and slid into a very comfy chair! – Patrick D., Yelp

About The Brighton Shave Co.

When Chris Vaughn raises a blade to people's throats, they usually thank him. That's because they're reclined on a barber's chair in The Brighton Shave Co., a men's grooming outpost modeled after traditional American and English barbershops. Before these men enjoy one of the shop's four shaves, though, they must absorb warm moisture from the hot towel draped around their face and the pies cooling on their shoulders, a practice which softens skin and opens pores to allow the closest possible shave. Once skin is set, staff members—also known as the Brighton Classix—lather it with imported products from London brand Geo F Trumper and with botanical blends from True Gentlemen before shaving stubble with regular or straight razors.

Upstairs on the mezzanine level, a pair of stylists operates Brighton's women's salon. Bruce Law expertly edits manes, drawing on 25 years of experience working in salons and the entertainment industry, and Ona J specializes in bolstering thinning manes with extensions and hair-replacement units.
