Building a miniature ship inside a bottle is impressive, but not as impressive as forging a giant glass shell around the outside of an aircraft carrier. One-up ordinary hobbyists with this Groupon.

Choose Between Two Options

  • $25 for $60 worth of jewelry-making classes and supplies
  • $45 for $120 worth of jewelry-making classes and supplies, valid for up to two people<p>

Gemstones ($10–$200 per strand) and 14-karat gold chains ($6–$20/foot) shine alongside vintage charms and lockets ($1–$10). Patrons can also enhance their skills in 10 different classes ($35–$40), which cover topics from crimping to complex beading for hoop earrings, or gather together for birthday parties and other events.

Brooklyn Bead Box

Brooklyn Bead Box arms crafters with beads and findings that run the gamut from simplicity to statement pieces, with prices starting at pennies to accommodate diverse project budgets. Semiprecious stones, unlike boulders covered in glitter, make for classic jewelry shining next to Swarovski crystals on strands and hanging solo. Clasps and beading tools finish jewelry makers' handiwork, and instruction books and large-holed beads give beginners a foothold in the art.

Beaders can also mingle with peers in one of Brooklyn Bead Box's 13 classes, each capped at four students to allow instructors to individualize attention and curb the antics of class clowns. The curricula cover topics ranging from introductory techniques to the more complex arts of crafting wire cuff bracelets or beading hoop earrings. For further beading camaraderie, up to 12 kids can celebrate a birthday at the shop while hand making their own accessories.

Customer Reviews

Good place to take a class. A bit pricey, and I wish they had an even nicer (I know that's subjective) collection of beads, but then again, it's still the best place I know of the get single beads (as opposed to full strands), it's local for me, and you can sit there and make something using their tools while only purchasing what you need as you go along (as opposed to guessing what you will need).

Natalie was a great teacher. She is very creative with a lot of patience. I loved the area and will be heading back to the bead box for more classes. Lived Natalie @ the bead box!

Loved the intro to ring and intro to earring classes. the instructors are very friendly and willing to help with each step of the jewelry making process and encourage u to be creative. The beads are reasonably priced. they also have drop-in times where you can get help, especially if you've taken a class before and forgot the steps to make certain items. they've definitely got me hooked and interested in making jewelry in the future. great groupon deal.
