Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars may have topped charts by giving you "Uptown Funk," but they took their sonic cues and swagger from R&B trailblazers Morris Day & The Time. In the '80s, these Prince associates kept dance floors packed with their high-energy, live instrument funk-and-soul dance tracks, including "Jungle Love" and "The Bird." Now, you can relive their heyday when Day brings the band to Get It Up, a night of retro jams coming to Santa Ana's Yost Theater. Expect to hear throwback hits that still thump, from "777-9311" to "Jerk Out." They'll be joined by Latin funk band Soto, as well as Grammy-winning disco legends Taste Of Honey, who grooved through the late '70s on the strength of their smash hit "Boogie Oogie Oogie."
