About Bry at Salon Wisp
What services does your business offer and what makes your business stand out from the competition? I purchased this location and it became Salon Wisp in April 2016. We did a big clean up with paint, new floors and quite a few new people. All of us love to come to work every day in a beautiful salon where we all get along so well and support each other. I am also very involved in our community as a member of the Salem Chamber of Commerce, an Ambassador for the Salem Chamber, and I also sit on the board for the Marion County Fair, as well as the Oregon State Fair Foundation.
What was the inspiration to start or run this business? My inspiration would have to be wanting to do my own thing, and being able to provide space for others to work in a great environment. My background is actually in sales, marketing and promotions. I made a career change almost 16 years ago, and after working at a couple different salons I had the research to open my own in 2009. Hot Rod Hair went on to win many awards, and I opened the Salem salon as Salon Wisp in April of 2016.
What do you love most about your job? It's not work to me, or just another job. No one is just another client to me. It's not always easy but it's always a good day and it's always worth it. To make people feel even a tiny bit better, to spend time with them, to become friends and to be able to be social all day!
What is the best reaction you've ever gotten from a customer? A referral! When someone refers me to another person. That is the biggest compliment I can ever get! Smiles, hugs and "oh my gosh I love it!" are always great things after each person.
