Bryan in the Kitchen
For Bryan Underwood, the decision to name his restaurant Bryan in the Kitchen was simple—and a long time coming. "Food is my life," he explains on his website, adding that "ever since I was young, I always had a passion for food." Growing up with a butcher for a grandfather and a baker for a grandmother will do that to you.
The intervening decades have given Bryan a chance to get some formal training, develop new recipes, and finally open his own restaurant. But certain principles instilled by his grandparents years ago have endured. The first and foremost of these: there's no substitute for high-quality ingredients. Entrees on Bryan's diverse menu include organic quinoa and greens with roasted butternut squash and cranberries; cream-cheese sandwiches with salmon and dill; and crunchy spicy tuna sushi rolls.
