Bubba's Potbelly Stove

Bubba's brothers turned the Red Cabin Inn into Bubba's Potbelly Stove in 1977, but the restaurant's roots stretch back even further than that. Part of the building is an actual log cabin that was built in the late 1800s, back when every meal was still garnished with a powdered wig. In fact, if visitors look hard enough, they'll spot a black-and-white photo of the cabin with a dirt road in front—Route 309 before it became Route 309.

Today, Bubba's still sports that cozy cabin vibe, and it dishes out food that's just as comforting as its atmosphere. The burgers are charbroiled and served alongside steak fries, and the reuben and roast-beef sandwiches come accompanied by rustic kettle-cooked chips. Hearty entrees, meanwhile, include fall-off-the bone ribs, bourbon-glazed pork chops, and Chesapeake crab cakes finished with a spicy remoulade sauce.

Customer Reviews

great service, great food

I don't know if they were having an off-day but just for a few starters they had no handicap accessibility which was difficult enough but they didn't even have salt down on the stairs so I told the greeter when I came in and when we left everything was covered in snow and slippery so clearly the message was dismissed. when we got there they didn't give us our menus right away and after a good 10-15 mins. later the waitress came to take our order and apologized for us not having our menus yet. then when she took our orders I got an entree with a salad and I never received my salad then when she approached our table for the first time after receiving our order she noticed that she never gave me my salad and then asked me if i " still" wanted my salad. I politely declined but not without dissapiontment. then my son noticed that his order wasn't right he asked for tomato and onion and they have him lettuce and onion. other than that the food was good. I think I would give them another try when I don't have someone in a wheel chair with me, because I believe everyone deserves a second chance.
