Bubba's brothers turned the Red Cabin Inn into Bubba's Potbelly Stove in 1977, but the restaurant's roots stretch back even further than that. Part of the building is an actual log cabin that was built in the late 1800s, back when every meal was still garnished with a powdered wig. In fact, if visitors look hard enough, they'll spot a black-and-white photo of the cabin with a dirt road in front—Route 309 before it became Route 309.

Today, Bubba's still sports that cozy cabin vibe, and it dishes out food that's just as comforting as its atmosphere. The burgers are charbroiled and served alongside steak fries, and the reuben and roast-beef sandwiches come accompanied by rustic kettle-cooked chips. Hearty entrees, meanwhile, include fall-off-the bone ribs, bourbon-glazed pork chops, and Chesapeake crab cakes finished with a spicy remoulade sauce.
