Almost anything can be improved with music, as evidenced by tuba-accompanied balcony serenades, operatic State of the Union addresses, and yodeled bank statements. Tune your ears to the sweet sounds on stage with today’s Groupon: for $12, you get one general-admission ticket to witness Cracker and Camper Van Beethoven performing together at The Buckhead Theatre on Friday, May 13, at 9 p.m. (a $25 value). Doors open at 8 p.m.

Reopening its doors after two years of restoration, the revamped Buckhead Theatre once again plays host to an eclectic collection of musical and theatrical acts. Like a man with two secret families who scheduled both Thanksgiving dinners for the same night, the musically pluralistic David Lowery brings both of his seminal bands, Cracker and Camper Van Beethoven, together for a historic show that revisits each ensemble’s greatest alternative rock tracks. Cracker will be blazing through their breakthrough 1993 album Kerosene Hat in its entirety, complete with Johnny Hickman’s soaring guitfiddle and 50 bonus tracks of silence. Lowery will then strap a fake beard over his beard, and lead the charge of Camper Van Beethoven as the band performs its sardonic and hilarious swan song Key Lime Pie, from the bittersweet crust of its opening rhythms to the poignant cream of its liner notes.
