Budare Arepa Express
There's nothing pretentious about the traditional Venezuelan food at Budare Arepa Express. Diners eat off red plastic trays or out of yellow plastic baskets while tasting the kaleidoscopic culinary influences of Africa, Italy, Spain, and France—which all appear in Venezuelan dishes. One of the cuisine's signature creations are arepas, a South American cornmeal cake that can be grilled, baked or fried. Authentic Venezuelan arepas are stuffed with meats, cheeses, and fresh-cut avocado slices as green as a jealous forest. Meat lovers will enjoy the parillas (mixed grill) or choose from muchacho (roast beef), solomo (sirloin) and lomito (steak). The kitchen also serves up Latin American favorites, including empanadas, tostones, and fresh juices.
