Unlike summer camps, boot camps won't require you to put on a fund-raising talent show to stop a nefarious computer company from turning Lake Cowabunga into its new industrial-waste depository. Team up to fight unfitness with today's Groupon: for $40, you get four consecutive weeks of three-day-a-week fitness boot camp at Bulldog Bootcamp (a $195 value). This Groupon can be redeemed at Bulldog Bootcamp's locations in Lincoln Park, Grant Park, or Oak Park.
Bulldog Bootcamp fashions fit figures from flab and faineance with its boot-camp program. The three-day-a-week pack of one-hour classes for four consecutive weeks begins with a fitness test to assess clients' physical conditions, giving Bulldog Bootcamp's instructors a starting point to ensure personal growth. You'll then take to the arena of the great outdoors and push yourself through a high-intensity medley of exercises, including push-ups, pull-ups, squats, sprints, and stairs, all while grandstands of Green Herons and Double-Crested Cormorants cheer you on. Students are kept engaged and ever-ready through each class's different style, all pulling from strength and cardiovascular exercises. Although Bulldog Bootcamp's instructors will challenge students—occasionally bringing sore calves to the brink of tears—they'll also inspire with their positivity and encouragement.
Participants in Bulldog Bootcamp may see a number of results, including an average weight loss of five pounds, strengthened core, increased endurance, and improved ability to slither through ventilation ducts. Groupon buyers can sign up online or call ahead to arrange boot-camp start dates and times. This Groupon lets you choose between a Monday-Wednesday-Friday or Tuesday-Thursday-Saturday block of one-hour classes.
- I like the motivation of a scheduled time and group of people working together. – Jason C., Yelp
- One of the critical success factors of keeping the daily workout alive, vibrant, results-oriented, and fun, is to “mix it up’, with a variety of exercises, visits to a variety of locations, always doing different workouts and avoiding routine and ruts. – Dean M., Testimonial
Green grass and blue skies bookend the boot-camp classes at Bulldog Bootcamp. Leading the outdoor workouts, owner Greg Major and his team of seasoned fitness instructors spur their students on by shouting words of encouragement and tearing Chicken Soup for the Soul books in half. Major—a decorated bodybuilder and inline skater—has been a certified personal trainer since 1989, and has since picked up the credentials to teach CrossFit’s Level 1, Football, and Kids programs. He and his staff stage CrossFit classes at Bulldog Bootcamp’s training facility in Forest Park.
