Glass provides a resting place for wine, eveningwear for Cinderellas, and a more dramatic exit from 44th-floor windows for Bruce Willises. Shatter artistic inhibitions with today's Groupon: for $47, you get an introductory fused-glass plate-making class at Bullseye Glass Resource Center Santa Fe on Early Street (a $100 value).

Founded in 1974, Bullseye Glass Resource Center Santa Fe produces internationally renowned glass materials in thousands of colors and finishes and passes on the ancient art of glass shaping through artist-guided classes. During a 2.5-hour introductory glass-fusing class, pupils study the fundamentals of forging objects in a kiln rather than an Easy-Bake Oven before compiling an 8"x8" fused and slumped rectangular plate from many different colored glasses. Scheduled once or twice a month, sessions accommodate a maximum of 16 students and supply all tools and materials needed to form the fused creations, which are available for pickup on the following Saturday after the course. Bullseye invites graduates of the beginning fusion class to attend open studio times, where they can craft additional table settings or explore the cyclical nature of art by turning a wineglass back into a sandbox.
