Far from fine dining but a great little "hole in the wall" kind of place!
  • Gourmet burgers
  • Old-fashioned cocktails
  • Craft beers on tap
  • Gluten-free beer and buns

Astronaut cooks have made numerous attempts to wrangle hamburgers into space-ready meals, from dehydrated-pickle discs to vacuum-sealed burger bottles. Enjoy what our starry-eyed brethren never can with today’s Groupon: for $9, you get $20 worth of gourmet burgers, craft beer, retro cocktails, and more at Burger Bar & Tequila Tavern, located in Kensington Market. The friendly staff at Burger Bar serve their decadent patties—ground fresh on-site daily from naturally raised cows, bison, lamb, or vegetables—as part of an eclectic menu of inventive, often organic comfort fare. Create a customized serving of heart-fluttering fare by piling an Ontario-raised beef patty (8 oz., $10.50) or Wagyu burger (6 oz., $16) with any of the 15+ decadent toppings ($1+ each), like coriander pesto sauce, Kimchi, or an organic fried egg. Stymied sandwich architects, on the other hand, can opt for a pre-designed delight such as the alba burger ($10), topped with truffle aioli and grape tomatoes, or the wild salmon sandwich ($9), for whose eating pleasure diners will be pitted against a gourmet grizzly. Pair any of these hearty mouthfuls with eight draft craft beers ($5.50), more than 10 types of tequila ($5+), or freshly made classic cocktails, such as the sour—fresh lemon juice and simple syrup served with a splash of your favoured liquor in a sophisticated mason jar and topped with lemon meringue ($6).

With wood-panelled walls, checkered tablecloths, and an all-seeing stag’s head keeping diligent watch over the dining room, the ever-cozy Burger Bar channels the homey yet lawless vibe of an old-fashioned saloon, providing a down-to-earth backdrop for cozy midwinter meals and landlocked riverboat gambling.

They shouldn't fix what isn't broken. The sweet potato fries weren't as good as my last visit, and the home made root beer was disappointing.

Being a server for over 20 years I felt the two female servers were slow, a little unorganized and not checking on the customers often enough. The restaurant was not busy. AS WELL THE BIGGEST MISTAKE was the server eating behind the bar( french fries). This was very unprofessional and unsanitary. Not to sound too harsh as well, the gals should be wearing regular jeans, skirt or something not so skin tight like leggings that provide the total view of crack lines. I know servers are all about making tips, but it is not the clothes you wear it is the hospitality that you give to the guest and that will have that guest come back.
