Q:

I have had a quote for blepharoplasty for all 4 lids plus canthopxy, do you do that as well? They were going get the approval from my insurance but it was going to be 4 to 6 weeks for the approval. Even with the approval it would be more money. I live in Bellingham.

lee c.  asked on  Mar 8, 2013

A:

Yes. Our office does provide this service. Through the technique used in our office for lower eyelid blepharoplasty, lower eyelid canthopexy is seldom required. If it is, this part of the service can be billed to your insurance. We usually avoid the need for pulling the corners of the lower eyelids (canthopexy) because we do not remove skin from the lower eyelids. This technique is more difficult for the surgeon, but it also has the benefit of requiring no stitches. In people where this type of procedure is required, that part of the surgery is billed to insurance.

A:

If that added procedure is needed for only cosmetic purposes, our office will gladly include it as part of the set of services that your Groupon purchase covers.

Q:

I am African American can the lower lid procedure be done without scaring ?

Darlene C.  asked on  Mar 8, 2013

A:

We have many very happy African-American clients. Since the lower eyelid surgery does not require cutting of the skin or stitches, there is no concern about scarring or pigment changes.

Q:

I had my upper eyelids done about 10 years ago, is there any danger to doing them again?

laurene w.  asked on  Mar 7, 2013

A:

We take care of many people who were not satisfied with previous treatment. We have never had any problem when doing so.

A:

Our office has been performing this eyelid procedure once or twice every day, five days a week, for many years. A natural looking result is what we guarantee; even when someone has had prior eyelid surgery. During the past twelve months, more than 100 Groupon clients have come to us for these eyelid procedures or for revision of previous surgeries.

Q:

I have had an exam, and a field of vision study performed. This procedure has been approved through my insurance do to sight issues. Shall I bring all current findings and records with me to the consultation? Also, how quickly can this be scheduled?

Geri E.  asked on  Mar 8, 2013

A:

It would be helpful to have those tests and your insurance approval. We often perform these procedures under the approval of insurance companies when warranted by the visual obstruction. As all services are provided within our own office, we can often find appointments within only a few days.

Q:

Could you fix only lower part under eye (puffiness) and how much would that cost for bouth eyes Thanks

Ned T.  asked on  Mar 7, 2013

A:

What you are describing is the "lower eyelid blepharoplasty" During this promotion, the fee for this is the same as the upper eyelids, and $1899. This is performed with no stitch.

Q:

How long is the recovering, What is involved in recovery and after surgery?

ROSEMARIE R.  asked on  Mar 7, 2013

A:

We remove the only stitch in seven days; though most people plan only to stay home from work for the day after the procedure. Everyone heals differently. Bruising is typically encountered when undergoing the lower eyelid procedure, and is seldom seen in upper eyelid patients.

Yes. We do. But we have found that all insurance carriers are becoming more strict when asked for prior approvals.
