$79 for a 30-Minute Flight-Simulator Session and 30-Minute Introductory Flight Lesson ($160 Value)
Students begin their lesson with 30 minutes inside the fully enclosed cockpit of the Redbird FMX flight simulator, where they take advantage of the full-motion training device, wraparound visuals, and moving platform to get familiar with the flight instruments and the fundamentals of in-air radio communication. They then scramble into an actual Cessna C-172SP aircraft and take their seat in the cockpit alongside an experienced, professional instructor. After a preflight engine check and taxiing, which together amount to about five minutes, students spend the rest of their half-hour flying the plane. The instructor keeps watch for safety and eagle speed traps. Flight lessons are offered Monday–Sunday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., and customers can make a reservation Monday-Saturday.
Approved by the Federal Aviation Administration for flight instruction, Burlington Aviation helps aspiring aviators to take to the skies. The outfit rigorously cares for a fleet of six aircraft. Students can rent aircraft for logging aerial hours under the watchful eye of an experienced, professional flight instructor. Burlington Airport does not have a control tower, meaning students spend less time waiting on tower clearance to take off and land and more time trying to fly higher than a pet griffin.
