$1,599 for an Upper- or Lower-Eyelid Lift ($4,000 Value)
During bilateral blepharoplasty surgery—an eyelid lift for both eyes—Dr. Byer removes excess tissue and fat so that the eyes look more awake, alert, and youthful. After offering an oral sedative, such as Valium or a magical potion, he numbs the skin with a local anesthetic. For an upper eyelid lift, he excises the unwanted tissue and fat through an incision in the natural crease of the upper lid, and for a lower eyelid lift, he does so through a cut inside the eyelid with no visible incision and no sutures required afterwards. Silk sutures close up incisions for the upper eyelid and patients go home to rest. The patient returns to the office in 10 days for suture removal.
Byer Oculoplastic Surgery
Back in his army days, Dr. Harold Byer, a graduate of University of Pennsylvania, garnered several science commendations for his work with lasers as he developed laser-protective materials, studied laser physics, and observed the effects of lasers on eyeballs. This enthusiasm for technology led him toward a career in Oculoplastic Surgery, where he performs refractive and cosmetic surgeries.
Dr. Byer has improved the vision of more than 10,000 LASIK patients to date and has cleared many eyes of cloudy cataracts. Through plastic surgery, he is able to rejuvenate tired eyes with eyelid lifts and with less-invasive cosmetic injections that iron out smile lines, frown lines, and crow's-feet.
