What You'll Get
The human obsession with flight stems from a refusal to accept limitations and an intense desire to find out which of your neighbors secretly have pools. Put your eyes in the skies with this Groupon.
Choose Between Two Options
- $99 for one private helicopter ground lesson and flight (a $179.50 value)
- $259 for an accelerated program with one private ground school and three private helicopter flights (a $539.50 value)
Each session begins with a 30-minute ground school, during which instructors teach students about cockpit instruments and flight checks and walk them through preflight controls and procedures. Pairs then take to the air in a Robinson R22 Beta II helicopter for an introductory hands-on flight. During the accelerated program’s second flight, pilots review the previous session and hone students’ skills in straight-level flying. During the third flight, students also learn to hover, pattern fly, and navigate traffic such as other helicopters and extremely gifted skateboarders.

About C-R Helicopters
Shadows of helicopter blades flutter over the New England countryside. The pilot peers out over rolling hills, jagged mountains, and winding coastline, where sailboats ply the choppy waters. C-R Helicopters helps students and passengers discover these heady views during private FAA flight lessons, scenic tours, and aerial photography flights. Pilots train protégés for private, instrument, and commercial pilots’ licenses, as well as Certified Flight Instructor levels I and II and Airline Transport Pilot certificates. They begin each program with a one-on-one ground school in classrooms and a heated hanger before putting students behind the controls of two-seat Robinson R22 Beta II helicopters. When not helming flights, C-R Helicopters’ staffers are authorized to deal, safety check, maintain, and secretly whisper to those same Robinson helicopters.
