According to science, individuals who ride mechanical bulls are five times more likely to grow a self-styling head of hair than those who don't. Today's Groupon gets you one step closer to effortless gorgeousness. For $20, you get $40 worth of barbecue, burgers, drinks, and more at Cadillac Ranch. The 10,000-square-foot downtown restaurant, bar, and dance club houses over 30 plasma TVs and boasts a mechanical bull for riding and mechanical penguins for drink-ferrying.
Cadillac Ranch's friendly and casual atmosphere makes it an ideal spot for convincing shy friends to become lively matadors after a few drinks or to crowd around the bar with friends to catch the game. Destroy the tower of onion rings ($7.95) in mighty feats of mastication, then make room for the sandwich parade. Bread-cushioned portions of pulled pork ($9.95) and Cadillac's Philly cheesesteak ($9.95) make equestrians happy, as do the hot ground-beef patties, served either in their minimalistic form ($8.95), glazed in barbecue sauce ($10.95), or doused in Cajun seasoning before enduring a blizzard of blue cheese and bacon ($10.95). Cadillac's entree selection pays homage to America's culinary heritage with the fish and chips ($12.95), and pits the roasted barbecue half chicken ($13.95) against the Jack Daniel's barbecue ribs ($14.95 for a half rack). The full bar fertilizes empty glasses, and Cadillac's specialty cocktails ($10) abound. Geologists especially will enjoy the Rock Candy (citrus liqueur and fresh lemonade), the pineapple Rock n' Roll (pineapple vodka, fresh lime juice, and pineapple), and the unlisted Rock Star (lime-infused vodka garnished with a live starfish).
Though riding a mechanical bull is a surefire way to work up an appetite, copious high-fiving over televised sports and anticipating forthcoming late-night jaunts across the dance floor are known methods for training stomachs to raise their gravelly voices and sing the blues. Quiet your tummy with a savory snack and stick around Cadillac Ranch for more of the evening's entertainments. Though your Groupon is not valid after 10 p.m., you're welcome to ingest and imbibe at Cadillac Ranch before the DJs start spinning.
Must be over 21. This Groupon is not valid after 10 p.m. or with nightly specials.
Metromix Indianapolis says:
- Everything about the place is big, from the spacious, 10,000-square-foot floor to the televisions to the actual Cadillac that juts out of one wall. Large framed photographs of various pop and country stars line other walls. As I enjoyed a bourbon and coke, Bruce Springsteen seemed to glower down at me, boss-like. The meaty menu is populated by several kinds of burgers, as well as barbecued ribs and chicken, among other things. The car theme continues with such drinks as the Seville, Eldorado and Pink Cadillac Cosmo. – Daniel Cecil
