Welcome to Groupon, Bakersfield! For our inaugural deal, for $5 you get $10 worth of Italian deli fare at Caesar's Italian Delicatessen at either its Eastside location on Niles Street or on the Westside on Brimhall Road. Since this is everyone's first Groupon, allow us to briefly explain how it works.
How Groupon Works
Groupon is a combination of the words group and coupon. Each day, we offer an unbeatable deal on the best of Bakersfield: restaurants, spas, sporting events, theater, and more. By promising businesses a minimum number of customers, we get discounts you won't find anywhere else. We call it "collective buying power."
If you want to get the deal, just click BUY before the offer ends at midnight. If the minimum number of people (15 for today's deal) sign up by the end of the day, you'll be emailed a gift certificate the next morning. You can print your Groupon or redeem it with our iPhone or Android apps. Use it whenever you want until the deal expires—today's expires in six months. If not enough people join, no one gets the deal (and you won't be charged), so invite your friends to make sure you get the discount!
Today's Deal
Unlike a sand witch, a sandwich doesn't have the power to turn men into sand and sand into poisoned glass. Let a sandwich cast a devastating spell on hunger pains with today's Groupon: for $5, you get $10 worth of Italian deli fare at Caesar's Italian Delicatessen. This Groupon is valid for redemption at either their Eastside Niles Street or Westside Brimhall Road location.
Family owned and operated since 1971, Caesar's Italian Delicatessen boasts a menu of classic sandwiches and sides and is famous for its pickled tongue, available by the pound ($11.49/lb) or in a handheld version ($5.59) bookended by bread and topped with lettuce and mild peppers. Enjoy namesake nourishment with the Caesar's Special ($5.95), pairing two kinds of salami with ham, mortadella, pepper cheese, lettuce, mild peppers, and sauce until it is fit for a ruler or any eater with a century-bridging hairstyle. For the strong-armed, the Deep-Pit Beef ($6.25) carries beef crowned with barbecue sauce or salsa, while the veggie sandwich ($5.75) combines avocado, tomato, lettuce, peppers, mayo, mustard, and provolone into a palate-pleasing product. Sides of marinated navy beans ($2.09/lb), a baked potato ($2.59/lb), and orzo pasta salad ($4.99/lb) play nice with main dishes despite secret ambitions of stardom. Feed a party of five or another television cast with a party platter ($15 for five servings) encompassing a tour of four meats and four cheeses with pit stops for olives, pickles, peppers, and bread.
Inside Caesar's, a large refrigerated deli case displays the plethora of protein provisions and superabundance of side dishes, while gingham tablecloths and cozy seating work well to hold plates when sandwiches are lifted to mouths. Enjoy the sublimeness of a sandwich, just as the ancient Romans did, with a trip to Caesar's Italian Delicatessen.
