What You'll Get

Consistently delicious fare provides a degree of stability in an unstable world filled with political upheaval, wobbly side tables, and vertigo-stricken housecats. Plant forks firmly into your food with today’s Groupon: for $39, you get a four-course prix-fixe contemporary American dinner for two at Café Bella (up to a $112.65 total value). Diners may select from any items on the menu. The four courses include:

  • One shared appetizer
  • Two soups or salads
  • Two entrees
  • Two desserts<p>

A café by day and bistro by night, Café Bella invites diners to explore its tantalizing weekly menu of contemporary American fare engineered by executive chef David Carpio and tinged with Latin, French, and Italian influences. A four-course, fixed-price epicurean banquet commences with a shared appetizer—such as the mediterranean platter, a tasty cadre of hummus, fresh olives, feta, greek salad, and pita—plus steaming chalices of the homemade soup of the day. After a round of rock-paper-scissors to see who goes first, feasting pairs each select an entree from the menu, which includes a robust skirt steak topped with madeira wine sauce and paired with fresh vegetables and mashed potatoes, or any of the weekday specials such as tilapia, shrimp, and salmon-stuffed seafood ravioli. The belly-besieging bounty concludes with a pair of dueling desserts, such as the handcrafted choco flan, the sumptuous tres leches, or the mysterious dessert of the day, whose true identity is carefully concealed inside Theodore Roosevelt’s Rushmore nose until plating time.

Café Bella’s exposed-brick walls boast eye-catching pieces from local artists, and the eatery’s hardwood floors and dark-stained tables catch airborne morsels as diners dig voraciously into their fill. As a BYOB establishment, the bistro invites diners to bring their own favorite bottles to pair with meals.

About Café Bella

International flavors shape the weekly changing menu at Café Bella, which was recently named a Top 40 Chicago restaurant by the Food Network and was one of 44 restaurants endorsed to be showcased on their new website. The spot transitions from daytime café to evening BYOB bistro, starting the day with steaming pours of house-blend coffee, café caramelos, and a selection of ciabatta sandwiches, wraps, and pitas.

For dinnertime, chefs may conjure up a mix of Mexican-style cheese steak sandwichs, steaks, seafood, and the spot's popular caribbean jerk chicken breast, accompanied by mashed potatoes with a madeira sauce and an edible steel drum set.

As diners savor preservative-free, all-natural fare, they can admire a spackling of local artwork making exposed-brick walls decent. They can also enjoy their dishes out on the street-side patio during warm months.
