Café Epi may bill itself as a cafe, but its chef elevates typical cafe food with gourmet twists and seasonal, natural, organic ingredients. Breakfasts include omelets stuffed with smoked salmon and goat cheese and Parisienne french toast, while handhelds such as croque madam sandwiches and kobe beef burgers shine at lunch. During dinner, rib eyes dolloped with blue cheese and grilled salmon paired with linguine pesto fly out of the kitchen. A global selection of wines brings out the entrees' many different flavors.
Of course, Café Epi embraces some aspects of a traditional cafe, including serving coffee drinks such as machiato espressos, affogatos, and iced Vietnamese coffees. It also has an extensive bakery case filled with tarts, tiramisu, and cupcakes topped with red roses—a dessert that's even more romantic than a glass of champagne mixed with chocolate syrup.
