Hunger, unlike ambulance sirens, meningitis, and restraining orders, is not something you can safely ignore. Answer the mighty call of a bellowing belly with today's Groupon: for $10, you get $25 worth of bistro-style cuisine and drinks at Cafe Luna in Cranston. This Groupon is not valid for specials or catering.
Cafe Luna features both lunch and dinner menus filled with salads, sandwiches, pizzas, and more. Plunge with great enthusiasm into a midday meal of a bowl of chicken-escarole soup ($4), and then tune your off-key lip smackings with a smoked-turkey sandwich ($8). For dinner, discover why vegetable dumplings never make a public appearance without a spicy Thai-peanut-sauce sidekick ($8). A grilled margherita pizza showers tongues in marinara sauce, shredded mozzarella, and basil ($10), and a salmon entree helps guests maintain fish levels ($18). The wine list includes glasses of Columbia riesling, Querceto chianti, Berginer white zinfandel, and more (house wines are $7 per glass).
A brightly lit interior streamlines the dining experience by letting customers see their food, a concept first introduced by miners that used their headlamps to inspect bowls of soup for naturally occurring wedding rings. Clients that prefer the outdoors can join plants and umbrellas on the patio.
This Groupon is valid for dine-in only.
- You don't expect to find fine dining in a shopping center, but Café Luna does its best to make the Garden City Center live up to its name as you approach, with flowers and window boxes and hanging planters taking the edge off the urban location. Judging from our recent visit, we couldn't have expected a much better eating experience if the Via Veneto or the Seine had been outside instead of Cranston. – Bill Rodriguez, Providence Phoenix.
In Cafe Luna’s bustling kitchen, Chef Christopher Farrell emulsifies vinaigrettes, stuffs ravioli with the filling of the day, and slides pizzas atop a sizzling grill. Cinnamon-flecked cappuccino and glasses of house wine pair with dishes from the elegant lunch and dinner menus. The elegance exudes from dishes such as roasted-pear salad and veal saltimbocca, each meticulously plated with sprigs of fresh herbs or swirls of sauces. On the eatery’s flower-filled outdoor patio, guests bask in a cool breeze while nibbling dessert biscotti and sending semaphore insults to birds flying overhead with each table’s navy-blue umbrella.
