What You'll Get
Pioneering Italians were not only the first to put tomatoes in cuisine, they were also the first people to take photographs of themselves pretending to hold up the Leaning Tower of Pisa. Delight in their inventiveness with today's Groupon: for $10, you get $20 worth of Italian fare at Café Pasta in Greensboro.
The noodle wizards at Café Pasta craft a delectable menu of homemade pasta and heart-healthy grilled dishes. Fresh spinach teamed with artichokes in a creamy, satisfying dip ($7.95) tickles taste buds until they beg for mercy, and the grilled chicken breast luxuriates in a rosemary marinade before wallowing in basil-cream sauce ($12.95). Diners put their fork-twirling skills to the test in Café Pasta's bright dining room with an array of pasta dishes, including the linguine rustica, a homemade tangle of flat, noodly tendrils wrapped around sautéed chicken, shrimp, and sundried-tomato morsels and dusted with parmesan ($16.95). Bowls of south beach pasta reel in sea scallops, artichoke hearts, and roasted red peppers, set them on a bed of angle hair, and rain a white-wine lobster sauce down upon them ($16.95). On Tuesday and Saturday evenings, live music occupies the aural real estate, happily cleansing diners' palates for the next jazz-infused course.

About Café Pasta + Grille
With its whitewashed brick façade, french windows, and curlicues of wrought iron encircling the entryway, Café Pasta + Grille looks as if it's been plucked straight from a cobblestoned European street. A striped awning shades the easel resting outside the front door, which announces menu highlights and other news printed in Cubist script. Inside, chefs re-create traditional Italian dishes, such as lasagna and risotto, as well as contemporary recipes crafted from spicy veal sausage or almond-crusted fish. Live music entertains diners two nights per week, as do special events such as mixology tastings and holiday parties. Café Pasta + Grille also caters meals throughout the area and hosts celebrations in a pair of private banquet rooms for free.
