Contrary to popular belief, boats are actually much safer than cars, which inexplicably sink every time you drive them on water. Take a proper water road ride with today’s Groupon: for $11, you get admission on a swamp boat tour with Cajun Pride Tours in LaPlace (up to a $24 value). Admission for children ages 4–12 is regularly $12–$16.

Cajun Pride's tour guides escort customers through the marshy waterways of the Manchac Swamp while pointing out local wildlife and sharing history about the nearby Cajun town of Frenier. During the approximately two-hour tour, vessels skim along liquid green thoroughfare as alligators peek their heads out at the familiar sound of the boat captain's voice. Come within high-fiving distance of myriad creatures, including waterfowl and Snuffleupaguses. Upon completion of the tour, all guests receive a rubber alligator to take home, where it will gladly protect the bathtub from skittish shampoo burglars. Tour attendees are encouraged to arrive 15 minutes before their scheduled departure times.

Cajun Pride Tours

Devoted to preserving Cajun culture by sharing it with the public, Cajun Pride Tours’ knowledgeable and passionate guides lead groups on tours that explore area swamps, plantations along the Great Mississippi River Road, and the historic districts of New Orleans. They also stroll along city streets in the French Quarter in New Orleans, the Garden District, and areas that display the lingering effects of Hurricane Katrina. On boat trips, groups can spot friendly gators while floating through the Manchac Swamp—a protected area that prohibits any hunting, fishing, or tickling of the native wildlife. A short drive past the swamps drops tourists off near the area’s plantations that are notable for their history, architecture, landscaping, and insight into Creole culture.

We had the tour on our come back to Houston from NOLA, the views are breathtaking, very beautiful, a few gators sitting around, a bunch of turtles, and friendly raccoons. Its funny because the cptn names them and they all seem to respond, lol. I believe the cptns name is Allen, forgive me if im wrong but he's very detailed about everything that has to do with the swamp life, trees, wild animals, birds, plant & just life in the swamp. Thank you Cajun Pride, we learned a lot in those 2 hrs!
