The namesake dance company of visionary creator-choreographer Pandit Chitresh Das pays tribute to their beloved founder, who passed away unexpectedly in 2015, by staging his final, powerful work at Cal Performances' Zellerbach Hall in Berkeley. This graceful and expressive dance-theater performance brings the mystical deity of Shiva to life, through its exploration of the spiritual life cycle of creation and destruction. The late, great Chitresh Das was a multiple Isadora Duncan award-winner who was famed for imbuing the traditional form of Indian classical, quick-footed Kathak dance with a modern sensibility, and his talented ensemble carries on that legacy with mastery and grace.
