The Civil War Days event sponsored by CHAS at Duncans Mills is fantastic! It's a full day of history, battles, and fun. We're coming back next year.

I had never been to a Civil War Reenactment before, and it was definitely worth checking out! Very authentic and lots of action with horses, guns and cannons! Interesting history lesson as well, especially if you speak with some of the participants, who are an incredibly dedicated bunch!

It was a great time and loads of fun as well as a learning experience. Highly recommend. Fun for couples, family's and kids or even a large group of friends of any kind. If interested in participating in the event, you may do so. Just be respectful of what they are doing I will say there are a lot of explosions and gun fire. So would recommend leaving your pets at home to fully enjoy the show.

About California Historical Artillery Society

The California Historical Artillery Society, a nonprofit educational organization, invites guests to the 17th annual Civil War Days, specifically the tumultuous years from 1860 to 1865. The group focuses on preserving the life and times of historic artillery and showcases horses and full-scale cannons. They travel to events across the region as uniformed, mounted artillery soldiers and civilians. As one of the largest mounted artillery groups in the country, they participate in live reenactments throughout the U.S., educating visitors about historical events from the Mexican-American War to World War I.
