What You'll Get
Beer, like a kindergarten teacher, is bubbly, mostly seen in glasses, and encourages people to finger paint before they take a nap at the table. Receive an effervescent education with today’s Groupon: for $15, you get a brew tasting for two and one appetizer to share at Calistoga Inn Restaurant & Brewery (up to a $30.25 value).
Home to the Napa Valley Brewing Company, Calistoga Inn Restaurant & Brewery opens the tap to pour house and seasonal craft beers on a riverfront patio drenched in nightly live blues and jazz. A four-ounce tap-taste introduces itself to palettes with a liquid handshake and tip of its bubbly hat, with typically up to seven sample beers on draft (a $1.25 value each). House beers include the dark Calistoga Porter, which cloaks glasses in a dense, velvet veil of coffee and chocolate influences, and a wheat ale that tantalizes tongues with hops performing synchronized swimming routines between the bubbles. Seasonal brews flow with the spicy Rye Pale Ale in the summer and fermented snowflakes during winter. For the appetizer, choose from the garlic-crusted calamari ($12.75) or the buffalo wings ($10.75), which fly into bellies to eliminate hunger with their spicy glaze. During spring, summer, and fall, chefs fire up the outdoor oak grills to sear steaks and seafood, with Thursday and weekend visitors getting the chance to shimmy to a DJ’s tunes in the pub. Wednesday night offers an open mic night for local musicians to play live music.
