Callan Tinsley Photography

Mary Tinsley DeCrescenzio's father, C. Allan Tinsley, always had a camera in his hand. While growing up under the light of his flashbulb, she picked up a camera herself and soon fell in love with photography. After he passed away, Mary started her own business, naming it Callan Tinsley Photography in his honor. Her gregarious personality greases the wheels as she interacts with clients; she loves to keep things laid-back by playing Jack Johnson tunes in the background. When she works, she typically uses Nikon cameras, but she can't give up her father's 35mm Olympus or resist the darkroom's promise of fun with film. This penchant for traditional techniques shows in her work: she doesn't rely on excessive digital tweaking to make her photos pop, but instead uses natural exposure and color saturation to imbue each photo with authenticity.
