Overview

Potomac Adventure Tour

• Your first whitewater experience in the easy-to-use sit-on-top kayaks!
• Duration: 4 Hours

About

• In this no-experience-necessary river tour, you will get acquainted with your one-person kayak and gear on the flat water of Seneca Creek. Then paddle under the historic sandstone aqueduct into the wide Potomac River! You will cruise down the waves and fast current of a class II section of whitewater called the Seneca Breaks. End your trip with a float past islands and greenery before taking out at the boat ramp at Pennyfield Lock!

• Calleva provides all necessary paddling gear, a knowledgeable guide, and a shuttle back to your car.

Itinerary:

• Meet and greet Calleva Instructor at Riley’s Lock
• Get fitted for Personal Floatation Device (PFD), Helmet, Paddle, and Kayak
• Head out of Seneca Creek and into the Potomac River
• Paddle down the Seneca Breaks
• Enjoy scenery and wildlife
• Paddle up Muddy Branch Creek to the boat ramp
• Take a shuttle bus back to Riley’s Lock

Paddle Pennyfield

• Duration - 4 Hours

• Explore a part of the Potomac River that you can only experience from the seat of your kayak. Weave between islands searching out for Bald Eagles, Turtles, and other types of wildlife that live on the shores surrounded by summer foliage. No experience is necessary for this amazing adventure!

• Calleva provides all necessary paddling gear, a shuttle, and a knowledgeable guide. Ages 12-120

Moonlight River Experience

• Duration - 4 Hours

• Find your zen under the stars while kayaking on the Potomac River. This 4 hour tour starts with an introduction to your gear along side a cook-out style dinner. We will launch on the scenic Seneca Creek, get some basic instruction, and head out to the Potomac River to enjoy the night-scape.

• Calleva provides all necessary paddling gear, food, and a very knowledgeable guide.

Kayak the Monuments

• Duration - 4 Hours

About

• Paddle under historical bridges and into the Potomac where you will view the DC skyline. We will take a stop at Roosevelt Island, then paddle across to the Georgetown waterfront. See the banks of DC, while your guide explains what buildings are what, the history of the city, and of course the monuments. Once we get our fill we will paddle across our nations river back to the south side of the Boundary Channel to where we began.

• Calleva provides all necessary paddling gear and a knowledgeable guide.
