William is an author who has made his career writing macho novels about hard-boiled detectives sniffing out clues and going after crooks. But his last few gritty mysteries haven't sold that well, and in an effort to stay relevant he decides to start writing sensitive romance novels. William enters a training program run by a popular publishing company designed to train the next generation of Nicholas Sparks-style authors -- but things take a fantastic turn when two of his characters, Vera and Manley Stone, refuse to be controlled and take on lives of their own. Bodice Ripper is coming to the Camino Real Playhouse in San Juan Capistrano.
