"I love the opportunity to bring people to a place full of happy," says the sales and event manager at The Retreat at Balcones Springs. Situated on the shoreline of Lake Ted among 250 acres in the heart of the Texas Hill Country, the Retreat provides guests with a chance to relax and get in touch with nature. Visitors can split time between wall climbing or aerial bungee jumping and outdoor activities such as horseback trail rides, and whirlwind zipline tours across the lake.
The zipline, in fact, runs 903 feet and across Lake Ted, dipping low enough for riders to touch the surface of the water and try to grab a fish with their toes. Its presence doesn't bother anybody else along the lakeshore, though; the entire spring-fed body of water—which also features a Blob, rope swings, and water slide—is privately owned by The Retreat at Balcones Springs.
