The Headwaters Adventure Youth Summer Camp at Camp Eagle is a weeklong, activity-driven outdoor experience for kids looking to combine camp camaraderie and outdoor adventures with discussions of Christian values. Four different activity tracks offer campers personalized experiences across 15 miles of mountain biking trails, limestone cliffs, and airborne zip lines, and a secret fifth activity track teaches them corporate espionage. Climbers can conquer Camp Eagle's limestone cliffs with the Cliffside track, bikers may ascend the Mountainside track, ambitious hunters and archers can take a shot at the Wildside track, and outdoor everymen can sample it all with the Extreme track. Regardless of the adventure chosen, campers will participate in challenging, kinetic activities such as kayaking, zip-lining, swimming, hiking, and hailing a cab.
Camp Eagle’s scenic locale on the headwaters of the Nueces River was featured on the Travel Channel's Burt the Conqueror program. A six-to-one camper-to-counselor ratio ensures that each adventurer remains under the counselors’ Red Cross-certified supervision. Explorers dream of rocket-powered kayaks within climate-controlled cabins, and are fueled throughout each day by healthy, high-quality meals.
Nestled amid limestone cliffs and hiking trails, Camp Eagle hosts life-changing outings that fuse outdoor activities with Christian messages that help parents navigate tough issues. The camp hosts a wide range of activities on its 1,400 acres, from small-group Eagle Quest backpacking trips to group retreats on the Nueces River and extreme-adventure events. Campers can take quiet hikes through the woods, sip fresh brews in the lodge-style coffee shop, try their hand at mountain boarding, or fly off The Blob—an enormous inflatable pillow that catapults jumpers into the river. Events hosted on the grounds feature leaders and sessions who inspire campers to lead Christlike lives, and the camp itself is a nondenominational, nonprofit organization. After days spent bonding over air hockey in the game room or re-enacting The Birds while shooting clay pigeons, visitors return to hotel or lodge-style accommodations.
