Pizza, much like the Earth, is circular, flat, and supports the existence of Karl Malone. Disprove spherical-pie theory with today's Groupon: for $10, you get $20 worth of pizza, antipasti, wine, and more at Campagna Salumi Bar & Pizzeria in Alamo Placita. This offer expires June 22, 2011.
Campagna Salumi Bar & Pizzeria aspires for the rich culinary traditions of southern Italy with its menu of Neapolitan pizza and numerous antipasti, salumi, and salads. Start by perusing the salumeria menu, in which prosciutto and capocollo ($5 each) continue their centuries-old struggle for gastro-dominance with cheeses such as pecorino romano and gorgonzola ($4 each). Thin-crust pizzas frequently hatch from Campagna's wood-burning Italian Forno Bravo oven and flutter to the tables topped with combinations such as fresh mozzarella, tomatoes, salame, and basil ($9); wood-roasted sausage, mozzarella, tomatoes, and garlic ($9); and goat cheese, pecorino romano, mozzarella, and ricotta salata ($10).
Throughout their meal, parched patrons can pick potions from Campagna's selection of nine Italian sodas ($3), as well as its extensive wine list, which features seven whites and nine reds by the glass ($5–$9). Espresso drinks ($4) are also available to help rouse exhausted palates from postprandial pleasure comas induced by desserts of chocolate panna cotta and citrus tiramisu ($6 each).
- Pizza's are the perfect size for sharing and so yummy! My friends and I stayed for hours enjoying the food and then mingled at the bar after: what a great crowd. I'm so happy to have found this gem!! – mia serene, Urbanspoon
- What a great place. The meatballs are incredible! The pizza tastes like real pizza in Italy. A great casual setting and a perfect spot for a before or after movie drink. – Joe P., Yelp, 3/13/10
