The 50th State: Hawaii
Malu comes from the Hawaiian word for peacefulness, which the 50th state has in spades, due to its peaceful oceans and numerous VCR repair stores. In fact, repaired VCRs are the islands’ main export, while Hawaii’s main imports are broken VCRs and “good vibes,” which must be shipped from Iowa inside the beaks of trained robins.
Hawaii consists of hundreds of small islands, the vast majority of which are actually gigantic turtles that once lived in Arizona but were banished for practicing polygamy. Hawaii also contains a number of active volcanoes, many of which can be entered for purposes of magical youth restoration or scalding. Hawaii, like Alaska, is currently being retrofitted with powerful rockets to help move the state inside the borders of the contiguous U.S.
