The amazingly intricate interplay of one of the world's most heralded string quartets will be on full display as the acclaimed Takács Quartet comes to Baltimore for the Shriver Hall Concert Series' 50th anniversary celebration. Along with string quartets by Haydn and Dvorak, they're set to perform an exciting new work by Timo Andres, Strong Language, specially co-commissioned by the SHCS to commemorate its landmark year. The only string quartet ever inducted into Gramophone Magazine's Hall of Fame, the Takàcs has been nominated for multiple Grammy Awards, winning in 2003 for an album in their heralded series of the complete Beethoven quartets. As London's The Guardian raves, "The Takács Quartet are matchless, their supreme artistry manifest at every level."

Event Description:

There’s a pre-concert lecture by Jonathan Palevsky at 4:30pm in the Clipper Room upstairs from the Shriver hall lobby.
