Leap into Oregon Ballet Theatre’s 26th season with a pair of dances that will transport you straight to romantic Italy. First, choreographer James Kudelka (Almost Mozart) returns to Portland with his new work based on the music of Italian Renaissance composer Carlo Gesualdo, known for his deeply expressive music. The world premiere of Sub Rosa will be performed at Keller Auditorium, followed by the third act of August Bournonville’s Napoli. The finale of the ballet evokes the vibrant city of Naples with lightening quick footwork, breathtaking leaps and a fiery Tarantella. Portland violinist Aaron Meyer and his six-piece band will open the evening with selections of Italian classics.
