The preternaturally gifted Danish String Quartet has roused the classical music world like a gust of crisp Scandinavian air. Recognized for their rousing and masterful performances, the quartet won first prize in the London International String Quartet Competition in 2009, and recently joined the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center's CMS Two program, a prestigious incubator for emerging ensembles. Now, the Philharmonic Society presents the quartet's Orange County debut, where it will play works by Beethoven and Haydn, along with Thomas Adès' wistful Arcadiana, an early masterpiece by the British composer.
