A slovenly sort who's taken up residence in his uncle's Dublin house, Tommy and his best friend Doc keep busy plotting get-rich-quick schemes, until one night when Tommy rescues a young woman from a violent attack. After the rescue, he takes the woman in and begins to care for her. Irish playwright McPherson (The Weir, The Seafarer) is an Olivier Award winner and Tony nominee who's famed for his poetic dialogue and richly textured storytelling.
