Pop-country music legend Kenny Rogers ("The Gambler," "Islands in the Stream") wagered he could turn a segment from his annual Christmas show into a full-fledged family musical, and now The Toy Shoppe comes to the stage at The Mac, starring Alan Thicke (Growing Pains). Thicke may be best known as an actor, not to mention as the father of pop phenomenon Robin and the star of his own reality show Unusually Thicke, but he has his own set of powerful pipes, and he'll put them to good use in this sweet seasonal story that The New York Times calls "a glorious homespun family delight." Rogers created the story and penned 11 original songs for the show, which is set in a small toy store that's home to lots of holiday magic.
