You're encouraged to attend this all-ages Halloween concert in full costume to compete in a contest -- and to join the musicians, who'll be dressing up to match the theme of their performances. Trombonist Robert Taylor (Oregon Symphony, Pink Martini) will don full army regalia to play General Douglas MacArthur during his rendition of Robert Erickson's 1969 General Speech, composed as a tribute to the WWII hero's famous 1962 farewell speech at West Point. Then clarinetist Lou DiMartino will take the stage at Portland's Mississippi Studio for Karlheinz Stockhausen's Der kleine Harlekin, dressed as a commedia del arte clown. Don't miss this colorful concert event.
Total running time with the intermission is 90 minutes. The costume contest takes place between pieces.
