Fusing the fire and fury of a virtuoso with the depth and grounding of a seasoned journeyman, four-time Grammy-winning jazz bassist Christian McBride has been likened to a force of nature on the stage. Since hitting the scene at age 17, he's worked with such greats as Freddie Hubbard, Herbie Hancock and McCoy Tyner, as well as Paul McCartney and The Roots. Classical bassist Edgar Meyer, who The New Yorker called "the most remarkable virtuoso in the relatively un-chronicled history of his instrument," has earned critical acclaim playing across a wide swath of genres -- from jazz to bluegrass -- and he's won Grammys for his collaborations with Yo-Yo Ma. Meyer joins McBride for a unique pairing at Atlanta's Schwartz Center, where the two jazz masters will crank out an evening of bass music not to be missed.
