What You'll Get
One of the hottest new dance ensembles in the U.S., Los Angeles-based contemporary dance company BODYTRAFFIC is bringing commissioned works by some of today's most sought-after choreographers to The Prince Theater in Philadelphia. After a critically acclaimed visit to the City of Brotherly Love last year, the troupe returns with Once again, before you go, a new work by RUBBERBANDance Group founder/choreographer Victor Quijada. Fusing hip-hop, contemporary and ballet into a new fluid style, Quijada's new work eloquently reimagines and de-constructs hip-hop ideology, examining humanity through a unique blending of aesthetics. The program also includes the ensemble piece A Trick of the Light, choreographed by Joshua Peugh, who was hailed as one of Dance Magazine's "25 to Watch," and the ebullient The New 45, a charming trio of dances by Richard Siegel set to jazz standards by Oscar Peterson and Clark Terry with a nod to Benny Goodman and Harry Belafonte.
