What You'll Get
Gustav Mahler's epic Ninth Symphony, famed for its moving exploration of mortality, is not only considered his masterpiece, but one of the finest and most complex achievements in all of classical music. Now the 18-piece New Jersey Festival Orchestra Ensemble, led by music director and maestro David Wroe, puts their own spin on the 1909 composition through a "bonsai re-orchestration" of the work, focusing on its power and upping its intensity. Mahler in Miniature premieres at Morristown's Bickford Theatre at the Morris Museum.
Running time is 90 minutes, and there is one 10-minute intermission.
