The audience favorite of the 2015 Hollywood Fringe Festival begins its run at the Three Clubs in Hollywood. This one-man musical asks the quintessential question about Shakespeare: Could an actor, and son of a mere glove-maker, really have written such a magnificent canon? In this iteration of events, an ailing Shakespeare is out drinking on the eve of his death when he has a prophetic vision that his authorship will one day be contested. Thus he takes his final audience on a booze-fueled story of his life with a series of tavern songs that range from bawdy to heartbreaking. Backed by his muses playing a variety of instruments, Shakespeare re-creates the events and characters that shaped his life and inspired his work. Enjoy the show while sipping a Shakespeare-themed cocktail, available from the bar.
Total running time is 75 minutes.
Audience members must be age 21 or older, except for the September 20 and October 4 performances.
