A comedic babysitting snafu out of Argentina, a bitter divorce drama from India, a violent outbreak in a West Texas roadside dive. Out of 500 cinematic shorts representing 70 countries, D.C.'s International Shorts Film Festival cherry-picked these as some of the best of the fest. Settle in for a two-hour screening of the top 10 at Angelika Pop Up Union Station and you'll catch shorts like "Best of Festival Winner" Cuerdas, from Spain. This tender animated treat introduces you to a young school girl who makes a very special new friend. Shorts from Spain racked up "Best Comedy" and "Best Feature" awards as well, with Grown Ups and Sermon on the Mount, respectively. You'll also see an unexpected "bump in the night" comedy from France, as well as charming animated tales from Germany and Ireland.
This festival is recommended for audience members age 18 and older.
