Based on true events from his first generation Indian-American experience, Hasan Minhaj: Homecoming King tells the story of the "New Brown America." The writer-comedian is best known as a droll Daily Show correspondent and contributor to NPR's The Moth Radio Hour. Minhaj's debut solo show follows his arrival to the U.S., where he meets his estranged sister and encounters interracial love, racism and bullying. As he tracks his family's quest to achieve the elusive American Dream, Minhaj aims to strike up a "nuanced conversation about bigotry, acceptance and forgiveness, even though these subjects can be embarrassing." Watch him navigate between two worlds when Homecoming King comes to New York's Cherry Lane Theatre.
